Since 2010, we've been dedicated to preserving Patmos' ecosystems, raising awareness, and initiating projects to ensure a sustainable future. Join us in our mission to protect nature's legacy for generations to come.
Our Activities
Environmental Project Management
Since our inception, we've meticulously planned, executed, and overseen environmental projects in collaboration with local authorities. Our focus ranges from conserving existing ecosystems to cultivating new ones, ensuring a sustainable environment for all.
Raising Environmental Consciousness
We're dedicated to fostering public awareness on environmental issues, both locally and globally. Through engaging public events enriched with informational, educational, and cultural content, we strive to ignite passion and action for environmental stewardship.
Multimedia Advocacy
Our commitment extends to producing and promoting multimedia content that celebrates the intersection of culture and the environment. Through innovative storytelling, we aim to inspire appreciation and action for the preservation of our natural and cultural heritage.
Sustainable Funding
We actively seek and absorb national and European funds to support our mission. By stimulating the local economy and facilitating project implementation, we ensure the continuity and success of our environmental initiatives.
“A forest ecology is a delicate one. If the forest perishes, its fauna may go with it. The word for world is also the word for forest.”
Ursula K. Le Guin
Our Projects
We aim to create an autonomous local ecosystem with multiple benefits both for the environment itself and for the inhabitants of the island.
A documentary about the migrating species of Falcon which lives in the Mediteranean sea and Madagascar, produced by Community of Trees.
Piano Mémoires is a series of concerts and recordings with piano pieces composed by Spyro Papanstasiou and performed by Emily Mesko.
As a community, we're fully dedicated to the Koumas Forest project in Patmos. We envision a lush forest park atop Koumas hill, teeming with native trees and vibrant biodiversity. Our mission is to cultivate a harmonious ecosystem, balancing human activity with nature. Through collaboration and shared effort, we're creating a sanctuary where both thrive. Join us in sowing the seeds of change for a greener future in Koumas Forest.

This expansive hill offers the unique advantage of creating individual planting zones based on orientation, sunlight, and wind patterns. Nestled within the terrain lies an old stone quarry, poised for restoration and transformation into a simple open-air amphitheater, symbolizing the seamless integration of environmental and cultural development initiatives on the island.
A Transformative Gift for a Cascade of Benefits
Oxygen. Trees on the mountain generate oxygen and filter air pollutants, contributing to cleaner, fresher air for residents and visitors alike.
Water. Trees play a vital role in soil and water retention, which supports the growth and sustainability of the surrounding forest ecosystem.
Diversity. The restoration of existing terraces further enhances the mountain's ability to retain water and soil, bolstering environmental resilience and biodiversity.
Wildlife. As the ecosystem flourishes, it will attract a diverse array of wildlife, including birds, bees, and small animals, enriching the natural landscape.
Environment. Beyond ecological benefits, the mountain park provides a serene and tranquil space for relaxation and contemplation, enhancing the island's overall quality of life throughout the seasons.
Growth. The cultivation of forest products such as fruits and honey presents economic opportunities for local communities, stimulating sustainable growth and prosperity.
Tourism. The park's scenic beauty and recreational amenities also serve as a magnet for tourism, drawing visitors to the island and supporting local businesses.
Employment. Securing National or European Funds not only drives project development but also generates local employment, fostering economic growth and environmental stewardship.
Established in 2010, we focus on environmental projects. Collaborating locally and internationally, we strive for ecological preservation and community involvement.
